Lara Abi Haidar - Creative Artist

"I was born in Beirut and grew up in a family of artists. I was influenced by my father’s different aspects related to fine-art techniques and mixed media. But I had a rebellious soul and taste to learn the basics, so i started creating my own abstract style.
My father always advised me to go into different fields like graphic design, medicine, architecture, law or science, but never indulge in art. He knew that fine-art was never a stable job. It was only a muse that was created to capture people’s moments in paintings and art, but was never a job that can turn into a serious career. Still, and despite learning graphic design, opening my own agency in branding and marketing, working for several hotels and institutions in the field of communication, I always yearned to go back to my gallery every single day and paint; capturing stories of my life in different perspectives. In 2016, I found my line in painting. I said to myself: this is exactly who I am and I can see my whole identity painted on canvas."
